I wanted to become a Menswear clothing designer in the future and make a personal brand, so I applied for the Ba course with FDD and Menswear. So I was thinking about the theme of “unlovable,” and I thought of CCTV surveillance, so I started to create a portfolio that solves CCTV surveillance in men’s clothing designs. The reason why I chose to watch CCTV is that we have CCTV wherever we go in our lives these days and I feel like we are being watched by someone through CCTV, and the problem related to CCTV has become a hot topic in our society these days, and we always record it unnecessarily or illegally. The part that I felt that CCTV would be useful as a topic was that mechanical elements of CCTV or elements that could be protected from CCTV or felt safe would help me design. I walked around and took pictures of CCTV around me. There were many CCTVs in subway stations, streets, and elevators. I researched various kinds of CCTVs that are not seen well in daily life and are common because I felt that the shapes of the CCTVs I took while walking around were all similar and normal. And I researched the artist related to the idea I came up with while making the collage related to CCTV that thought of and took a picture at Tate Modern. And my future plan is to make a collage with the researched image, find silhouette and detail, and then make a design process, and I will choose 10 to 12 designs that I like and draw a final line-up illustration. I think my main customer will be a man who is interested in fashion in his 20s and 30s, and the design will have a unique design, but it will be enough to wear on a daily basis.
